LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – This is a group of kids on a field trip to the Lafollette Fire Department when it was on First Street. The kids are gathered around and on Lafollette’s newest fire truck, a 1964 American LaFrance.

Back then, both East and West Lafollette Schools made this trip almost every year. The kids would see the fire truck along with a visit to the fire and police department along with a chance to see the jail.

Back then the police, fire department and jail were located in the same building as the Lafollette Shirt Factory. It remained there until 1976 when it all moved to South Tennessee Avenue and Beech Street where it is today.
