JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Jacksboro Middle School Football team, led by 5th year head coach Cody Parker, has found itself in the state championship for the first time since 2021.  Revenge may be on Jacksboro’s minds as Cherokee defeated the Eagles in that game by a score of 52-12.

The Eagles come into this game 9-0 having beaten Gatlinburg Pittman 40-0 to make it to the championship game. The Cherokee Yellow Jackets are having yet another successful season themselves. The Jackets are 8-1, their only loss coming to Rockwood. To punch its ticket to the title game, Cherokee knocked off Cumberland Gap 30-6, a team Jacksboro defeated 32-28 earlier in the year.

Jacksboro hopes to win its first state title since the now Jellico High head football coach Brent Peel led the Eagles to their only championship game win in 2017.
