‘Until further notice, no burn permits will be issued in the City’ – La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A day that brings 60s, sunshine and cool breezes is also a very dry day as drought conditions persist in Campbell County and the region.

The combination of low relative humidity, and ongoing drought conditions will lead to an elevated fire risk today, especially during the afternoon hours. Relative humidity will drop into the 20`s this afternoon with south winds sustained between 5 and 10 mph. While frequent gusts are not expected, winds could gust upwards of 15 mph.
