LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Another round of wintry precipitation is expected tonight through Friday night. Freezing rain tonight may lead to light ice accumulations.

That low of 25 drops to 19 by Friday afternoon as Friday brings bitter winds and a chance of snow in the morning and afternoon. Single-digit lows for Friday and Saturday nights.

Precipitation will transition to snow on Friday as cold air builds in with a northwest flow. Light snow accumulations are expected across higher elevations of Campbell County, the East Tennessee mountains and southwest Virginia.

Very cold temperatures are expected Friday night and through the weekend, with low temperatures falling into the single digits and wind chills below zero at times. Windy conditions in the mountains will produce wind chills of -15 degrees or lower, and a Wind Chill Watch has been issued.
