The City of LaFollette E-911 Communications Center is currently hiring a Public Safety Telecommunicator.
This will be a full-time position working shifts in a 24/7 staffed office, to include nights, weekends, and holidays. The job comes with a competitive full benefits package, including employer-sponsored health insurance, paid time off, and TCRS retirement.
This entry level opening provides on-the-job training and includes, but is not limited to, answering emergency and non-emergency phone calls, dispatching Police, Fire, and Medical First Responders, and providing the community with the help they need, every time they call. It will require excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to multi-task in a high-stress environment, verbal de-escalation skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple emergencies at any given time.
