Services for Friday afternoon/evening have been canceled due to the inclement weather

Lowell Bunch, age 82 of La Follette, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Turkey Creek Medical Center. He was born on March 11, 1941 to the late Tillman and Cora Daugherty Bunch at Devonia in New River, TN. Lowell began working as a coal miner at the age of 20 and was a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America. He was a UMWA representative at Consolidated Coal Company where he passionately advocated for fellow miners. This passion even drove him to run for president of UMWA at one time. After his coal mining days, Lowell opened a lawn care business in 1990. It was through this business he met the many “sweethearts” of Campbell County. He opened a business called Taxes, Taxes, Taxes in 1992 and also owned and managed several rental properties. He was always willing to help those who could not help themselves, especially the elderly and children. He leaves behind so many who will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Harvey Ward and Joseph Morin.

He is survived by: mother of his children, Bobbie Jean Patterson Seiber, son Garry Bunch and wife Renee Bunch, daughter Robbi Denton and husband David Denton, daughter Melina Black and husband Kerry Black and daughter Christy Miller and husband Kim Miller; sisters, Mavia Ward, and Margie Morin; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family and friends.

The family has canceled Lowell’s services, scheduled for Friday (Jan. 19, 2024) afternoon/evening, due to the inclement weather

Leach Family Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.
