ROCKY TOP, TN (WLAF) – Sunday marks the 28th year Rev. Roger Leach has preached from the pulpit of the Willowbrook Baptist Church (top photo). “My first Sunday as their pastor was 28 years ago, to the day, Jan. 28 (1996),” said Leach.

Leach’s early days in the ministry included a radio broadcast on Sundays at 6pm over WLAF starting in 1995. He preached at Willowbrook’s homecoming in 1995, and the church brought him in for a few Sundays in November and December.

Sunday marks 28 years at Willowbrook Baptist Church for the Rev. Roger Leach.

“The church voted in January (1996), and I began on that Sunday, the 28,” said Leach. In 1996, Pastor Leach moved his radio program to Fridays at 10am taking over the late Dillard Archer’s spot and has been there ever since.

  1. A wonderful pastor with a beautiful family. Their youngest was 4 months old when I met them, while we were preparing for my grandfather’s funeral. Now their kids are married, having their own children. Their oldest is Caleb, he is the owner of the Leach Family Funeral Home and Crematorium here in Rocky Top. He did such a great job taking care of the preparations for my mom’s funeral. The younger kids are grown with many of their own successes and families. I dearly love this family, to the moon and back!
