A proposed addition of the Caryville Fire Hall.
CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – On Tuesday night, the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen met in a workshop to discuss possible options for renovations to the municipal building.
Two options were presented to the board, but the cost of the options was not given. The renovations would include extending the fire department building (top photo of the current two-bay fire hall), extending the police department and changes to the library and front office. The board did not make any decisions regarding the plan at the meeting.
Other business discussed was a possible way to fill open positions in the police department. Police Chief Freddie Stagnolia reported to the board that he had found funding to send someone through the police academy. He told the board that Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy (TLETA) would pay for an officer to attend the 12 week academy. This would help the town to fill open positions within the police department. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 02/08/2024-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
