According to County officials, TDOT will be doing miscellaneous safety improvements, and the contract just states the county, the railroad and TDOT will all cooperate on the project.

An airport committee management contract extension was approved as well. This was done upon the recommendation of the Airport committee.

Several appointments were made to the County’s Board of Equalization. These included Angel Richardson, Megan Robbins, Glenn Smith, Larry Nidiffer, and Marlene Broadway.

In other business, the E-911 naming of a newly developed road was approved. The name of the road is Country Place Lane, and it intersects with Country Oaks Lane.

A contract between the Tennessee Department of Health and Campbell County was approved as was the 2023 annual Progress report from the Solid Waste Board.

Rules were suspended briefly at Monday’s meeting to take care of some pressing building and grounds matters.

A motion to hire MBI as architects for the new record storage facility was approved. This was on the recommendation of the building and grounds committee.

Final business approved at Monday’s meeting was the recognition of Gillis Lane as an existing county road. According to Commissioner Rusty Orick, this is just ratifying what was done in 1995.

“It was approved in 1995. This will update the record so there is no misunderstanding that it is a county road,” Orick said. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/16/2024-6AM)
