JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – Jellico High School will be holding its Art Show on Friday, April 26th from 6 to 7 pm at the Community Center next to the library in downtown Jellico.

According to Jellico High School Art instructor Dee Day, this year’s show is going to be phenomenal and showcase the many talents of her students.

There will be a meet and greet reception and art show and silent auction.

“We will be auctioning off artwork to help the students and the program; there is so much talent in this show,” Day said. She said students had been working with new media like oil pastels and quill pens and ink drawing.

The Jellico High School Art Show is April 26th at the community center next to the library in downtown Jellico. Come check out the talent and bid on the art in the silent auction.

Art students had to pick a topic theme and have four art works all based around the theme or subject matter they picked.

The seniors in the art class are responsible for getting the program ready, dressing up, doing the food and the reception for their art show.

Day said putting together this art show is a great opportunity for her art students to see what it is like to prepare art for a gallery showing of their art.

“There’s just so much talent at this school; we hope you will come support Jellico High School students’ artwork,” Day said.

The Jellico High School Art Show exhibit will also be open to the public from April 22nd through April 28th when the library is open from 9 am to 5 pm and is located in the conference room. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/23/2024-6AM)
