Big rig spent the balance of the day blocking one lane of road at Cumberland and Beech, streets are back open.

LFD Firefighter John Davis directs an 18-wheeler on through the four way stop.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) -Around 8am Thursday, a low boy hauling an excavator broke down on South Cumberland Avenue near East Beech Street.

It was quite the long day for all concerned on Thursday.

“It had a drive line break,” said La Follette Fire Chief Jimmy Pack. LFD Firefighters spent the balance of the day directing traffic at the intersection and at the top of the hill at the church.

Firefighter John Davis said most everyone who came through was quite courteous.

The owner of the rig came back with a replacement piece to get the truck going and off Cumberland. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/26/2024-6AM)
