Kathryn Marie Brantley Evans of Caryville, TN, born July 29, 1931, moved to her heavenly home on Friday, April 26, 2024. She was a faithful member of Lakeview Baptist Church for 71 years, serving God as a Sunday School teacher, assistant choir director, VBS teacher and director, training union teacher, Christmas play director, and many other roles. She was especially known for her hugs.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years James Leo Evans, son Joe Leslie Evans, parents Clyde and Leoda Murray Brantley, and sisters Nora Wilson and Alta Carter.

She is survived by daughter Linda (Lee) Heatherly of Jacksboro, granddaughters Leslie (Kevin) Wilson of Jacksboro and Lindsay (Joseph) VanBebber of Caryville, great-grandchildren Hunter and Bailey Wilson and Lauren and Rebecca VanBebber, brother Clyde Brantley Jr., brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, church family, and special friends.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 30 at Lakeview Baptist Church from 5-7 PM with the funeral to follow at 7 PM, with Rev. Roger Stanley and Rev. Jimmy Ault officiating. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, May 1 at 11 AM at Evans Cemetery for Interment.
