‘Meet the Candidates’ 2024 presented by WLAF begins airing tonight

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN. (WLAF)- Over the past two weeks, the candidates for property assessor, school board, road superintendent and state representative have visited the WLAF Studio to record their portions of the ‘Meet the Candidates’ forum for the 2024 races.

The forum will start airing tonight, April 22, at 6pm on WLAF-TV 1089 (Comcast). It will air every Monday and Friday on Channel 1089 at 6pm until the August Election.

Chamber’s first Home and Garden Show a success

A total of 15 local businesses were featured at Saturday’s Home and Garden Show sponsored by the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce. Businesses set up booths along the halls in the mall and outside at the Food City Center at Woodson’s Mall.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism held its inaugural Home and Garden Show at the Food City Center at Woodson’s Mall (VERY TOP PHOTO) on Saturday, featuring 15 local businesses.

According to Chamber Director Missy Tackett, the Home and Garden Show went great and showcased some of the local businesses in the area that specialize in the home industry such as contractors, flooring, windows, siding, home décor, paint and more.

Food City plans to hire locally

Visit La Follette’s Food City on Tue., between 10am and 7pm to apply

KNOXVILLE, TN. (SPECIAL TO WLAF)-Food City is proud to be celebrating the opening of several new store locations and store expansions this year, along with the continued growth of its curbside pick-up and in-store food service options, such as to-go meals. These events have resulted in the creation of a number of new area jobs.

Daugherty takes second place at regional science fair

Daugherty, an Elk Valley 6th grader, won his school science fair advancing him to the competition.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Since January, middle schooler Kira Basarich and her brother Kaden, a high school freshman, have been showcasing their entrepreneurial skills with their new business, Dog is Good. On Saturday, the pair was set up on the sidewalk outside Woodson’s Mall at Food City Center.
