LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “Blue kept wanting out of the house, and when I let him out, he ran next door. I followed and saw that the house was on fire,” said Ken Treadway. JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It’s rare a team scores a touchdown on the first play of the game and the last play of the game, but the Campbell Cougars did just that on Thursday night in a 54-48 overtime win over Clinton. Just for the record, it was Campbell’s first-ever win when playing on Mark Packer’s Rivalry Thursday telecasts.
Peyton Ferguson, the birthday boy, returned the game’s opening kick-off 90 yards for a touchdown, and it was game on. It took the Campbell Cougars ten-seconds to take the lead. With the game tied at 48, Campbell stopped Clinton in overtime followed by a one play overtime for Campbell. Cougar Landen Hensley threw a bullet to an angling Mason Shanks in the west end zone for the win. Four quarters and an overtime later, the Cougars clawed out a 54-48 win over arch rival and Region 3-AAAAA opponent Clinton. Watch the game HERE on demand from WLAF.(more…)
