JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – In the wee hours of Sunday morning, a pick-up truck headed down a steep hill on Liberty Street, left the road, went over an embankment and rammed into the back of a home, according to officials.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF) – Happy October. There are several events that happen around town each week, and I’m keeping you in the loop about what’s going on in our neck of the woods. Each week, I will share local happenings, and you’ll be up-to-speed.

LUB Crew helps with Hurricane Ian restoration at North Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WLAF) – An eight man crew left out before daybreak on Friday headed for the beach, and they weren’t headed for fun in the sun. It’s all business as they drove out at 6am on their way to restore power to one of the many communities in the southeast that was ravaged by Hurricane Ian.

Neighbors turned heroes rescue mother, daughter from burning home

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – “Blue kept wanting out of the house, and when I let him out, he ran next door. I followed and saw that the house was on fire,” said Ken Treadway. Treadway, barefooted and shirtless, flagged down a car to call 911 as he ran up onto the porch of the burning home at 309 East Prospect Street.

CCSO makes arrest in narcotics investigation in east La Follette

Wire-to-wire thrills as Campbell nips Clinton 54-48 in OT

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – It’s rare a team scores a touchdown on the first play of the game and the last play of the game, but the Campbell Cougars did just that on Thursday night in a 54-48 overtime win over Clinton. Just for the record, it was Campbell’s first-ever win when playing on Mark Packer’s Rivalry Thursday telecasts.

Peyton Ferguson, the birthday boy, returned the game’s opening kick-off 90 yards for a touchdown, and it was game on. It took the Campbell Cougars ten-seconds to take the lead. With the game tied at 48, Campbell stopped Clinton in overtime followed by a one play overtime for Campbell. Cougar Landen Hensley threw a bullet to an angling Mason Shanks in the west end zone for the win. Four quarters and an overtime later, the Cougars clawed out a 54-48 win over arch rival and Region 3-AAAAA opponent Clinton. Watch the game HERE on demand from WLAF.

Tennova Healthcare LaFollette offers free flu shots at drive thru event

LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Tennova Healthcare – LaFollette is hosting a free drive-thru flu vaccination event on a first-come, first-served basis to the Campbell County community on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 1:00pm to 3:00p.m. at the hospital’s main entrance, located at 923 East Central Avenue in LaFollette.

CCSO investigators locate active meth lab under the seat of a car

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Sheriff’s Sergeant Tosha Tackett responded to a call of a possible accident on Mountain Road at Caryville on Monday morning but didn’t find an accident. Instead she found a vehicle backed into a side road that appeared to have been purposely backed there.
