LAFOLLETTE, TN  (WLAF) – There are a few people in Campbell County, however, that do not realize the magnitude of just what happened here last night.  Boat rescues, road closures and buildings and cars under water are disasters not often see in our area.  A combination of the La Follette Rescue Squad, Campbell County Rural Fire Service and the La Follette Fire Department teamed for the boat rescues.

LUB is down to 743 electric customers out of utility service at 10:45 am Saturday. LUB General Manager Kenny Baird said, “We are working tirelessly to get everyone restored, and I appreciate understanding from most of the public.”

Baird adds that a hydrant flushing cloudy water to keep it from reaching the system is taking place.  At the height of the storm, nearly 4,000 LUB customers were without power, according to LUB’s Engineering Director Gary Williams.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/08/2019-11AM)

We’ve had a few that don’t realize the magnitude of what happened last night. Here are some pictures of some exposed water lines we’re dealing with. Also a hydrant flushing cloudy water to keep it from reaching the system. I’ll send the pictures in a separate text.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 06/08/2019-11AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF CAMPBELL COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT INFO OFFICER JUSTIN LETNER)
