JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Alderman Gene Stevens made a second request at last night’s Jacksboro Board of Aldermen meeting for a workshop on an ordinance for all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) to travel on city streets. Mayor June Forstner will need to schedule the workshop.  Stevens said he would get with the mayor about scheduling.

Raises for employees were discussed.  Firemen, library and office staff will receive a 25-cent an hour raise. The mayor cautioned the board about being mindful of overtime and the Christmas bonus when considering raises.

The board agreed to request bids for paving, but  Forstner said she wants separate bids for each street. The streets on the list are North Street, School Road, Mt. Perkins Lane and Eagle Bluff Road.

In final business, the purchase of three vests and four tasers were approved for the police department. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 08/02/2019-6AM)
