LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – It was winter when Ridgeview Behavioral Health Services moved into its new Campbell County offices in February, and the pandemic soon followed.  That put a crimp in a planned spring grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony.  Until today.

Under a sky full of sunshine, a good size crowd gathered ’round listening to grand opening remarks and to cut the big blue ribbon in the lunch hour on Thursday.

Campbell County Chamber of Commerce president emeritus Nancy Green (above) welcomed the crowd and introduced Ridgeview CEO Brian Buck.  “I am honored to have you come out for this simple but significant moment in Ridgeview’s history,” said Buck.

Buck (above) pointed out, “It takes a lot of commitment and courage to seek mental health treatment.  We applaud those who have stepped up.”  He followed those comments by asking all Ridgeview staff members to raise their hands.  He noted that 22 employees of Ridgeview live in Campbell County.

Ridgeview opened its first Campbell County location in 1970.  “Until the purchase of the former Dunaway Law building, Ridgeview had always leased space,” said Buck.  He thanked the Campbell County community for its support over the years.  “Ridgeview served 1,500 people over the past year,” he added.

Sharon Kapp (above) is Ridgeview’s Director of Out Patient Services.  Kapp detailed how others from nearby Ridgeview offices came in to help get the new La Follette office ready to go.  “We worked past midnight to meet our opening deadlines,” said Kapp.  She emphasized, “This is a wonderful place to work and serve our community.”

The new Ridgeview offices are located at 108 South 5th Street in La Follette.  The telephone number is 423.562.7426.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 10/08/2020-6AM)
