LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – New signs that recently arrived to the La Follette Fire Department were used for the first time on Wednesday afternoon during a wreck involving a La Follette Police cruiser.

“We have these new signs on our units to help keep us safe and to help drivers know the reason for a slow down is because of an emergency,” said LFD Chief Jimmy Pack.

LFD’s First Responders cut the door off of an LPD cruiser on Wednesday afternoon to free an LPD officer involved in a wreck. Given traffic was down to one lane in each direction in front of the La Follette Medical Center, the new signs were needed.
