Three people were injured in a Friday afternoon wreck.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A man, a girl and two-year old boy sustained serious injuries in a single-car wreck Friday afternoon not far from the Mt. Zion Methodist Church.

Just before 1 pm this afternoon, officials say a black Nissan Versa slammed into a tree on White Rock Road, just off River Road, before the Mack Gamble Lane turn off.

The Campbell County EMS drove the patient from the wreck scene to Tommy C. Stiner Airfield to meet the medical helicopter.
The two year old boy was said to be suffering from severe head trauma.

White Rock Road, a very narrow road, was shut down to allow First Responders room to care for the injured. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.

Campbell County based Lifestar 4 was unable to fly on Friday afternoon and another med chopper was called in to transport the young patient.

Responding agencies included the Campbell County Rural Fire Service, the Campbell County EMS and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office. CCRFS Assistant Chief Daniel Lawson just happened to be in that part of the county and was on scene in less than two minutes after the call went out.

The man and the girl were taken by ground ambulance to a Knoxville hospital. The child was airlifted to a Knoxville hospital. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/22/2021-2PM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLOTTE UNDERWOOD)
