Mrs. Mable Compton Violet age 87 of LaFollette passed away Monday, February 15, 2021.  She was a member of Glade Springs Baptist Church and served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.  Mrs. Mable was formerly employed with Imperial Reading and the Furtex Corporation.  Preceded in death by Husband, Mr. James Violet, Parents, George and Myrtle Marcum Paul, Sisters, Nan Fisher and Sandra Ivey, and Brother, Jimmy Paul.

Survivors: Son, Doug Compton and Wife, Melody, Grandchildren, Travis Meredith, Mason Compton and Wife, Kaitlyn, and Ragan Tuttle and Husband, Byron; Sisters, Nancy Peebles, Juanita Smith and Husband, Lloyd, Anna Lou Oglesby, and Geraline Smith; brothers, George Earl Paul, Roger Wallace “Wally” Paul and Wife, Thelma , and Lawrence Paul and Wife, Anna; Sister-in-law, Diane Paul; Brother-in-law, Mac Arthur Ivey; Several Nieces, Nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral Services Wednesday, February 17, 2021, 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Chris Stanley officiating.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday before funeral services.  Family and friends will meet Thursday, February 18, 2021, 10:30 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Fincastle Cemetery for 11:00 A.M. Graveside Services and Interment.
