LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – As the City of La Follette continues to deal with the firings of its city administrator and codes/animal control officer from earlier this year, it appears to be moving forward with filling those vacancies.

On Jan. 11, Stan Foust was appointed interim city administrator taking over for Jimmy Jeffries. City officials voted to pay Foust $1,000 a month in compensation for his extra duties on top of already being city recorder and human resource director/risk manager. Earlier this month, the council agreed Foust will receive the city administrator salary until the end of the fiscal year. At the upcoming city workshop on March 29, the council is expected to ratify Foust’s salary of interim city administrator effective Feb. 27, 2021.

The agenda for the March 29 workshop.

At a previous meeting, the council agreed to divide the codes enforcement/ animal control position from a single position to two. On Monday’s workshop agenda is approval to hire Jeff Duncan as codes enforcement officer. Current part- time LPD patrol officer Jami Hall is also on the agenda. Hall is expected to be promoted to full- time animal control/level II patrol officer.

The city plans to discuss purchasing an animal control truck at the upcoming workshop as well along with declaring April fix up, clean up month in the city.

The workshop is set for Monday, March 29, 5:30 pm, at city hall. WLAF will have the live telecast. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/29/2021-6AM)

  1. Were any Higher level Education Requirement or certification requirement expressed for filling the positions? Or is it same old same old, again?
