The tractor, pulling a trailer, appeared to have come over a hill before overturning.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – The initial call coming in to E-911 Central Dispatch of a tractor accident with one person trapped was at 4:49 pm on Monday.

First responders arrived to find a man trapped under a tractor near the Pyro Shows Warehouse Facility at 1808 Jacksboro Pike. The accident scene was reported to be less than a tenth of a mile off the pike. The man, identified as 71-year old Michael Adams, was freed and transported to the La Follette Medical Center where he later died.

Multiple agencies responded to Monday afternoon’s fatal tractor accident.

Neighbors who knew and lived near the Adams say he was always feeding cows, rolling hay or something farm related. One neighbor called it heartbreaking and described Adams as a great man and a good Christian man. “He was a good man and a great friend!,” said Rodney Lawson.

Aside from the CCSO, the Campbell County Rural Fire Service, Campbell County EMS, La Follette Fire Department and La Follette Rescue Squad responded.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Cross-Smith Funeral Home. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/20/2021-6AM)
