LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Weapons were drawn as members of local and national law enforcement agencies surrounded a home on East Ash Street late Friday morning. Marked and unmarked police units were parked all around the area as agents moved swiftly to apprehend a wanted La Follette man.

Law enforcement officers surrounded this East Ash Street home that sits behind Pierce Furniture Gallery in La Follette.

“This came together really fast,” said La Follette Police Capt. Steve Wallen. The LPD Special Response Team assisted agents with the U.S. Marshals Service and Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) who were tracking 42-year- old Courtney Partin of Stinking Creek Road, La Follette. Partin, recently released from federal prison according to jail records, was wanted on a federal indictment; felony possession of a firearm.

The Special Response Team from LPD jumped into action for a second time on Friday morning. Its day began with a pre-dawn drug raid.

Partin’s lengthy arrest record dates back to May 2000. Charges over the years range from attempted first-degree murder to theft of property ($10,000-$59,999). He was taken into custody by federal agents without incident and transported out of Campbell County.

Local and federal units, marked and unmarked, were parked all around the area with many pulling into the Pierce Furniture Gallery parking lot.

Additionally at the home that sits behind Pierce Furniture Gallery were 20-year- old Kelsey LeAnn Gibson of Camp Ridge Road, La Follette, and James Meadows, 39, also of Camp Ridge Road. Gibson was charged with a capias/bench warrant while Meadows was arrested on charges of possession of schedule III drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia based on jail records.
