DUFF, TN (WLAF) – On a recent Tuesday afternoon, Campbell County Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher West saw a maroon Mercury vehicle cross the yellow and white line several times on Hwy 90 in Duff. 

On May 18, the deputy stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Teresa Ann Baker whose driver’s license was suspended, according to a report from the sheriff’s department. When Baker was asked to step out of the vehicle, West noticed that she lacked balance. At this point, the woman was asked if he she had smoked anything that would have placed her under the influence. She allegedly responded that she had smoked marijuana earlier in the day.

After Baker performed a series of field sobriety tests that she performed unsatisfactorily she was placed under arrest. A search of the woman’s bag revealed a glass bottle with an unknown amount of a crystal like substance, three pipes, two straws and rolling papers.  An unknown amount of a green leafy substance was allegedly found in the woman’s bag and her hand.

Baker, 61, 128 Malicoat Lane, Duff is charged with driving under influence (DUI), possession of schedule II controlled substance, possession of schedule VI, possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain lane, driving while suspended. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/01/2021-6AM)
