JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Jellico man indicted for second degree murder had a court appearance Monday. After a brief court appearance, Steve Zecchini’s case was reset to Nov. 29.

Zecchini was indicted for second degree murder in the April shooting death of Brenda Gail Booth. Related story.

Zecchini has plead not guilty to the crime.

 Zecchini was indicted by the grand jury not only with second degree murder but tampering with evidence as well as being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Campbell County Sheriff’s Officers along with Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents investigated the crime that occurred in the 200 block of Brick Plant Lane in Newcomb. When authorities responded to the call they found Booth dead inside a camper, according to police.

The investigation led authorities to charge Zecchini in Booth’s death. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 11/4/21- 6AM)
