NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – Eight communities in Senatorial District 12 are the recipients of a round of grants. The grants combined total nearly $4.5 million.

“These grants will help improve critical infrastructure including water and sewer system upgrades in these communities,” said Sen. Ken Yager (R-Kingston). “I’m pleased to support local officials and congratulate their efforts to help bring about these vital improvements.”

The allocation of CDBG funds is based on priorities set through the public meeting process at the local community level. The CDBG program is funded through HUD and administered in Tennessee by the Department of Economic and Community Development. Funds are available for water and sewer improvements and new extensions, housing rehabilitation and health and safety projects.
