LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Parks and Recreation Director Jay Muncy tells WLAF that major improvements are underway at Lonas Young Park at the White Bridge.

Construction on a new campsite kicked off last week and is scheduled to be completed in 270 days according to Muncy. When finished, there will be 19 full hookup camp sites and a bath house that will sit next to the newly paved parking lot/boat launch area of Young Park.

This area of Lonas Young Park will be an impressive looking campsite come early 2023.

Also included in the improvement is the addition of a bathroom on the boat ramp side.

Brian Hatfield, often called the Mayor of White Oak, runs the roller on March 17 for the Rogers Group as the dock side of Lonas Young Park was paved.

Director Muncy said the other end of the dock side was paved and striped a couple of weeks ago, and the new camping site area will also be paved when finished. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/13/2022-6AM)
