LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – The staff at East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (ETHRA) is in need of volunteers on September 19, 20 and 21 (Mon-Tue-Wed). Your help is needed in the distribution of USDA commodities.

Your case workers, Renee Patty and Darlene Sharp, need your name and the dates that you can help for the month of September 2022.

Monday, September 19, 8:30am to 4:30pm

Volunteers will meet the staff at the old West La Follette Elementary School building at 8:30am. The meeting place is at the bottom back of the school building in the cafeteria. You’ll be helping unload food off the truck and packing food in the boxes, and your day will end at 4:30pm.

Tuesday, September 20, 8am to 4:30pm

Volunteers will meet the staff at the old West Elementary La Follette School building at 8am. They will leave at 8:15am to go to the Jellico Library.  You will have to have your own transportation to meet us at the Jellico Library. After leaving the Jellico Library, we will come back to the old West La Follette Elementary School and finish packing the food in the boxes to get ready for giving out food on Wednesday. We should be finished by 4:30pm.

Wednesday, September 21, 8am to 4:30pm

Volunteers will meet the workers at the old West La Follette Elementary School building at 8am. We will be giving out food at the school that day, and your day will end at 4:30pm.

Volunteers should wear wear tennis shoes during work hours. Do not wear flip flops, cutoff shorts, short shorts, low cut or crop tops. Tank tops are okay but no ‘spaghetti strap’ tank tops. Knee length shorts are acceptable to wear. In case of rain, bring your raincoat. Listen to the weather forecast over WLAF.
