JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – “This generous donation will really help. It’ll go toward feeding the kids,” said Jacksboro Chief of Police Daniel Smith. The chief’s comments come after members of the Lions Club presented the donation to Smith and Assistant Jacksboro Chief of Police Franklin Ayers Tuesday morning at Jacksboro Town Hall.

The Lions Club continues to give back to the community through proceeds generated by its annual carnival, and this donation benefits this county wide project. Though police are coming off a successful golf tournament and road block for Shop with a Cop, they are still a little short of what’s needed to provide Christmas to 300 Campbell County children.

“We’ll have Shop with a Cop next month over a couple of nights with 150 children each night, and we always feed the kids before they go shopping,” said Smith. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 11/23/2022-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
