CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – On Monday evening the Town of Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen met with a light agenda.

The first item on the agenda was a second reading of Ordinance No. 2022-09 amending the annual operating budget for the fiscal year 2022-23. The budget amendment was for the town’s donation to the Caryville Cares Playground.

Up next on the agenda was a discussion of a capital outlay note to purchase a fire truck. The board agreed to submit the necessary paperwork to the comptroller for the note.

In the final business of the night, Police Chief Freddie Stagnolia was hired full time. Stagnolia was hired in September and completed his 90-day probationary period this month. Stagnolia was hired to replace former chief Brian Keeton who resigned from the position in August to become the sheriff of Scott County.

After the regular monthly meeting, the beer board met and approved nine beer license renewals for 2023. License approved were Pioneer Shell, TA operating LLC, Dollar General #14511, Quick Stop Market and Deli, El Rey Aztec, Pilot Travel Centers, Blind Frog Café, Rocky Top Market 919 and Jack and Dianne LLC.
