Crews with the LFD battled the fire as snow flurries blew around in sub-freezing temperatures.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) -The call of a house fire at 403 Cherry Street was called in a little before 10am Saturday. The caller told dispatch that a lot of smoke was coming from the home that can be seen line of site from the La Follette Public Library.

Firefighters searched the home three times to make sure there was no one inside.

The first LFD Firefighters to arrive relayed to dispatch that flames were showing in the attic. The home, that appears to be abandoned, was searched three times by firefighters to make sure there was no one inside.

The call of the fire came in at about 9:50am Saturday.

There was a temperature reading of 29-degrees while the fire was fought.

Three units with the La Follette Fire Department responded.

No injuries were reported.

Cherry Street, a very narrow street, becomes a one way street in March.
The initial concern as fire engines rolled up was that there might be someone in this abandoned house.
