JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The driver of a truck was pronounced dead at the scene of an early morning accident on this New Year’s Day.

Near 849 Pinecrest Road, just south of Cumberland View Baptist Church, is where a pick-up truck struck a tree, according to authorities. The wreck was called in by a nearby homeowner at 3:45 Monday morning.

Officials described the truck as a black Chevrolet Silverado and said the driver was pinned in the wreckage.

The Campbell County Rural Fire Service and EMS along with the sheriff’s office responded. A Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper is investigating the accident. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 01/01/2024-6AM)
