LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Chauncey McCormick, the former owner of Grandma Millie’s Bakery, has released a new photo filled, story telling, cook book that holds a collection of recipes from the her former bakery. The cook book is a unique collection of McCormick’s old fashioned family recipes, photos and stories that made Grandma Millie’s Bakery famous. Librarian Nancy Green hosted a book signing for McCormick on Monday at the La Follette Public Library.

McCormick, now living in Campbell County, operated Grandma Millie’s Bakery in Johnstown, New York, for 16 years with her family. Read more about the 2018 closing of the family bakery HERE.

The book is dedicated to her “amazing family” who worked so hard to make Grandma Millie’s possible. “I’ve been blessed with so many special family members in my life that taught me so much, supported my decisions and inspired me,” said McCormick. She goes on to express her gratitude and thanks to her husband, sons, daughters in-law, mom and her dad. Her dad passed away a year before the book was published.

McCormick decided to move south to East Tennessee, settling in LaFollette after she closed her shop in New York. Today she lives here with her husband and Jasper, her rescued donkey.

As well as her own cookbook, she also has her own blog and YouTube channel, entitled Frugal and Delicious. She was also featured in a TLC show called Buddy’s Bakery Rescue, which you can watch a promo HERE. The show was hosted by Buddy Valestro, who hosted the hit show, Cake Boss.

At Monday’s book signing at the LaFollette Public Library, McCormick said, “My customers were devastated that we were closing, and they couldn’t have our baked goods anymore. So I promised them that I would write a cookbook, and I would share all the recipes that the bakery was famous for for 16 years.”

“There is a photo on almost every single page, and it is full of stories. It’s a unique cookbook. It’s not just a cookbook. It has stories and photos and funny little sayings, and it’s just very unique, and it’s from my heart and from my family, and I’m very proud of it,” McCormick said.
