Geneva Newport, age 89 of Caryville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior and reunited with her loving husband on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking, shopping, quilting, and doing missing vowel puzzles, and she was a member of Central Baptist Church.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Elden Newport; parents Rev. Dan and Mary Daugherty; sister Margaret (Lilybee) Leslie; brother Paul Daugherty; brother and sister-in-law Sam and Margaret Daugherty; brother-in-law Paul Lynch; and sister-in-law Kathleen Daugherty.

She is survived by her sons; Danny Newport of Caryville, TN, Johnny Newport and wife Julia of Houston, TX, and Tim Newport and wife Jessica of Powell, TN; daughters; Julie Hatmaker and husband Ronnie of LaFollette, TN, and Helen Woodward and husband David of Tullahoma, TN; grandchildren; Sarah, Mac, Emily, Hampton, Nathan, Danielle, Graham, Noah, Caleb, and Ivy; brothers John Daugherty and James Daugherty and wife Evadean; sisters Nancy Lynch and Magdalene Daugherty; sister-in-law’s Edith Gray and Judy Engel; several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the last rites given by the Eastern Star Lodge #415 at 7:00 PM. The funeral service will follow with Rev. David Walker, Rev. Tim Moore, and nephew Shaun Lynch officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM on Thursday, March 23, 2023, to go in the funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for an 11:00 AM interment
