NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – On Thursday, March 31, the Tennessee House of Representatives was commandeered by three members of the Democrat Caucus in conjunction with several organizations including left-wing groups like AWAKE, which according to its website “seek to disrupt systems that reinforce gender inequality.”  They were joined by many schools and anti-gun groups in the Nashville area.  The crowd was estimated to be around 2,000, and they gathered on the courthouse steps early in the morning and moved inside as the legislature began its morning session.

The three members who took over the well inside of the House of Representatives were from left to right, Rep. Gloria Johnson (D-Knoxville), Rep. Justin Jones (D-Nashville) and Rep. Justin Pearson (D-Memphis).

Justin Pearson (D-Memphis).  The microphones were cut off, but the group brought a bullhorn and led the gallery in chants in the chamber.  They tried to get the gallery to storm onto the house floor, and they also tried to get the protesters outside the chamber doors to force their way inside.  The Tennessee State Troopers contained the mob rioters and none was able to breach the house doors or move from the gallery to the house floor.

The protesters were anti-gun protesters along with pro-transgender groups who cursed and shouted their slogans as elected officials passed by them.

Members had to be escorted in and out of the chamber by state troopers while the crowds were shouting at the members. No one was injured or arrested and the session was able to resume and be completed.  The members who commandeered the well of the house of representatives will be dealt with this week. and action will be taken against them.
