JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- It was a protest that never took place today at Campbell County High School.

Despite reports of a planned walk out in protest of CCHS Principal Ben Foust’s reinstatement, students stayed on campus today.

“There were rumors of a walk- out so we asked the sheriff’s department for increased security,” said Campbell County Director of Schools Jennifer Fields. “We wanted to ensure the safety of our students.”

When WLAF arrived at the school, multiple CCSO units and a K-9 were present.

“We were called about some sort of protest,” said CCSO Chief Deputy Cody Chapman. “We were here to keep the peace.”

“It was a false report. No students walked out,” according to Fields.
