LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Elevated fire danger levels will continue today as low relative humidity is expected this afternoon and evening. Another afternoon of dry conditions and gusty winds will occur on Thursday leading to increased fire danger across the region once again.

High fire danger conditions persist Wednesday afternoon and evening for Campbell County and the region due to low relative humidities. Relative humidities with once again drop into the 20 to 25 percent range this afternoon and evening with some upper teens possible. Sustained southwesterly winds of 5 to 15 mph can be expected. Frequent gusts aren`t expected, but an occasional gusts up to 20 mph could occur.

The dry air and gusty winds combined with dry vegetation will enhance the potential for fires to start and spread. Please refer to your local burn permitting authorities whether you may burn outdoors. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/19/2023-6AM)
