CARYVILLE,TN. (WLAF)- As the number of children entering the foster care system continues to rise, it remains difficult to find homes for them. The wait for a foster home can be long and it can be lonely. But the Isaiah 117 organization is hoping to help those children. And a local restaurant is going to help Isaiah 117.

Jack’s Place in Caryville is hosting a Pancake Breakfast April 22 from 7 am until 11 am at its 312 John McGhee Blvd. location. All proceeds will directly benefit the construction of an Anderson County Isaiah 117 home. This home will be avaiable for children throughout Tennessee, including those from Campbell County.

The Isaiah 117 organization provides a place where children, removed from their families, can be brought to wait until a foster home can be located. The goal of each home is to provide a safe, friendly environment staffed with loving volunteers who provide clean clothes, smiles, toys, and blankets. This space allows children to receive the comfort and care they need as child welfare staff seeks to identify a placement.

The mission of Isaiah 117 House is threefold: reduce trauma for children awaiting placement, lighten the load for child welfare services and ease the transition for foster families, according to its website. The homes are not meant for long term housing but instead to serve as safe space for children while they wait for a foster family.

All homes are built with the assistance of the community and funded through donations.

Jack’s Place is showing its support by hosting the Pancake Breakfast next Saturday.
