JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – In about seven minutes Monday night, the Town of Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met and worked through the agenda.

Mayor Shayne Green requested the board rename the town’s park Bill Robinson Memorial Park; the board approved the request.

First on the agenda was Ordinance No. 129 passing the budget for the 2023-24 year. Next up was the second reading of Ordinance No. 128 updating the building code, both ordinances were approved.

Gaytha Daugherty was hired to fill the librarian position in place of Dan Gearing. It’s believed Gearing is moving to another post within Town Hall.

The board approved Acadia training for the police department. There is no cost for the training however the officers will incur expenses for lodging.

Green reported to the board about flooding on Butter and Egg Rd near the first bridge, the board agreed to have Caryville Jacksboro Utilities check on the issue.
