CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Teachers make a difference in their students lives each and every day. For many students, having a teacher who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that teacher who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hard working educators with a weekly feature.

This week’s featured educator is Amanda Hardwick. She currently teaches Kindergarten at Caryville Elementary School. Hardwick was born and raised in Campbell County and is a 1999 graduate from CCHS.

Amanda Hardwick is Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. She teaches Kindergarten at Caryville Elementary School and is pictured here with her husband Nik.

Right after high school, Harwick went to paralegal school at Roane State Community College and received her Associate’s degree. She then worked for the City of LaFollette for nearly 14 years while she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in teaching around the age of 30. She has been an educator for 14 years.

“I have been fortunate to have remained at Caryville Elementary for my entire 14 year teaching career! I’ve taught Kindergarten, first and second grade,” Hardwick said.

In her free time she said she “love, love, loves the sport of weightlifting and functional fitness” and has been a member at Absolute Fitness for over 17 years under coach Tim Zupancic.

Other hobbies include “crappie fishing with her husband Nik and long naps with her dog Peydro.”

“I’m super blessed to have the many opportunities to be in our amazing, gorgeous and tiny town; and even more blessed to have the best students to grow and learn with EVERY SINGLE DAY!” Hardwick said.

Every Thursday, WLAF’s Charlotte Underwood features the WLAF – Eagle Tire Pros teacher of the week. That educator also receives a free oil change from Eagle Tire Pros.
