Drawing to be held for weekend camp spots at Lonas Young Park

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – A drawing is being held for weekend camp spots at the newly completed Lonas Young Park RV Campground. 

County Commissioner Dewayne Baird made a motion at Tuesday’s County Commission meeting to hold the drawing for the weekend before the 4th of July.

The RV Campground has 20 spots, with two being designated as handicapped. The drawing is for all RV camp sites at Lonas Young Park.

“We’re about to the final stages of getting the RV park in. Were testing out the electric and want to do a give away for the citizens to give back. This would be for Campbell County residents only and for campers or pop ups, as the tent sites are not set up yet,” Baird said. 

The drawing is for for Friday, June 30th, and Saturday, July 1st. After that, the campground will be open to all for reservations and camping.

“This is a good way to repay the citizens for investing in this. Whoever wins, give us comment and feedback,” Commissioner Rusty Orick said. 

“This is something we can all be proud of; the citizens deserve it.” Commissioner Scott Kitts said.

“I agree, this is a great way to give back to the citizens,” Commission chair Johnny Bruce said.

The cutoff date to apply for the drawing is noon on Monday, June 26.
