Here is the master plan of what will be where once a portion of Depot Street is removed.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – A large portion of Depot Street, known as South 5th Street in some circles, is going to be leveled to adjoin Seargeant Park and Liberty Park. The topic has been talked about a lot these past few months, and all signs are that the City of La Follette is planning to move ahead with the project. The master plan was delivered to City Hall on Tuesday afternoon and was developed by ARDURRA of Knoxville.

The master plan says it all. The walking trails of each park will be extended to go along with a lot of parking plus a swimming pool and kiddie pool.

“Nothing has been discussed on a start date.  I will likely be asked to put the project on a workshop for discussion in the months to come,” said City Administrator Stan Foust. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 06/29/2023-6AM)

  1. Finally someone is planning with Children in mind. There hasn’t been a pool to take our grandchildren to for 3 years now. The playground equipment at Cove Lake is antiquated and the trails are not safe for walking or riding bicycles. It’s sad that we have such a beautiful County, yet, we have to go to neighboring counties for recreation for our children.
I hope these plans come to fruition.

  2. Finally thoughts of a pool for the children. I wish we could get something like KY splash bc that’s where alot of people go.

  3. Why not put the pool in the recreational complex of 18 acres on Independence? Let’s save the taxpayers the cost and inconvenience of demolish ing Depot.
