Joe Edward Lindsay, age 78 of Jacksboro entered into his new and better life to be with the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday July 28, 2023 at UT Medical Center. He was a member of LaFollette Tabernacle of Praise. He was a founding co-owner of Lindsay’s Furniture and Lindsay’s Carpet and Paint.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Zora Lindsay; brothers, Lee Lindsay and James Cooper; sister, Betty Fritts.

Joe is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sue Ann Lindsay; daughter, Misty Horton and husband Bryan of Jacksboro; son, Tony Lindsay and wife Julie; grandchildren, Lindsay Walden and husband Jacob, Bryson Horton, Townes and Dailee Lindsay; sister, Darlene Irwin of Jacksboro, and a host of other relatives, friends, and employees.

He loved his family so much. He loved being with the grandchildren and doing things with them, like riding them on the golf cart.

He loved his church and church family. He enjoyed working every day and being around people. He had such a good heart. He always wanted to help and serve people.

He loved beautiful flowers and could never have too many of them.

Joe is and will always be missed by his family and friends, but he will always be with us in our hearts forever.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday August 2, 2023 from 5 PM to 7 PM in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral service to follow at 7 PM with Rev. Clarence Duncan officiating. The family will meet on Thursday August 3, 2023 at 10 AM to go in funeral procession to Indian Creek Cemetery for a 11 AM internment.
