Doris Rutherford age 81 of LaFollette went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 12, 2023. She was a member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and retired after 25 years from the Campbell County School System as a Special Education Teacher.

She is preceded in death by her husband Homer Rutherford; son, Steve Rutherford; parents, James and Dora Lowe Gillette; brothers, James and Roger Gillette; sisters, Rosie Bryant and Lucretia Hill.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Rutherford, Marvin and wife Cathy Rutherford, and Jason and wife Heather Rutherford; sister, Ann Wilson; grandchildren, Tanner Rutherford, Nolan Rutherford, Zach Rutherford, Brenna Rutherford, Brady Rutherford, Chesney Rutherford, Grace Webb, Peyton Webb, Nikita Siddell, Dustin Siddell, Amber Kipley, Ed Kipley. Bailey Perkins, Jacob Perkins, Darrelle Douglas, and Whitney Douglas; great-grandchildren, Cayden Kipley, Logan Kipley, Keagan Kipley, Aubrey Douglas, and Grant Douglas; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and special friends she talked to daily.

The Family will receive friends on Thursday, August 17. 2023 from 3:00-5:00 pm in the chapel of Cross-Smith Funeral Home and then will proceed to Powell Valley Cemetery for a 5:30 pm graveside service and interment officiated by Rev. Mark Gillum.
