Mildred Goins, age 88 of Jacksboro, went home to be with the Lord and entered into her Heavenly home on Saturday, August 12, 2023. She was born October 29, 1934, to the late S.E. and Ethel (Lovely) Jordan. Mildred was a Christian and attended New Beginning Baptist Church in Rocky Top.  She retired from the Campbell County School System. Mildred loved spending time with her family, cooking, and gardening.

In addition to her parents, she is reunited with her husband, Warren Cordell Goins; brothers, Earl F. Jordan and Eugene Jordan; sisters, Geneva Braden, Margaret Phillips, and Christine Rutledge.

Those left behind to honor and cherish the memories of Mildred are her sons, Barney Goins, Craig “Polecat” Goins, and Scott Goins and wife, Lisa all of Jacksboro; her grandchildren, Billy Goins and wife, Paula of Robbins, Tiffany Overton and husband, Lucas of Clinton, Matthew Goins of Jacksboro, and Magan Goins of Jacksboro; her nine great-grandchildren; her brother, Jack Jordan, and wife, Bonnie of LaFollette; her sister, Lorene Bowman of Ohio; several nieces, nephews, and host of other relatives and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Paula, Stephanie, and the staff members of American House West Knoxville for their loving care shown to Mildred and her family.

A visitation will be from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 16th, 2023 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with her grandson, Rev. Billy Goins officiating. Interment will follow at Campbell Memorial Gardens.

BARNY…..BOB AND I JUST NOW SEEN THIS…WE KNOW YOU HATE TO PART WITH YOUR MOM AND YET, WE ALL KNOW SHE IS IN BETTER HEALTH RIGHT NOW….WE JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW WE CARE ABOUT YOU AND THE FAMILY AS YOU SAY GOODBY TO YOUR MOM…I ALWAYS ENJOYED BEING AROUND HER….SHE WAS A JOYOUS PERSON…AND LOVED TO HEAR HER LAUGH YEARS AGO….PRAYERS TO ALL YOUR FAMILY.

  3. Barney , Craig , Scott sorry to hear of your mom passing. Remember her when was in elementary school , she was always very special to me the way she always was there to help If I can help in any way , let me know. Sorry couldn’t make it to funeral.
