Gertie “Louise” Phillips age 88 of Jacksboro, departed this life on April 15, 2024. Louise was born January 2, 1936 in Anderson County to the late Ted and Lula Mae Heatherly Disney. She loved working in the yard, mowing, cooking, gardening, canning, sewing, and spending time with her family. Louise was a longtime and faithful member of Cumberland View Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Virgle Phillips of 58 years; her brothers, William “Bill” Harvey, Benny Joe, Conray, and Jackie Disney; her sisters, Georgia Mae Vowell, Edna Grace Wallace, Barbara Mozingo, and Pat Long.

Louise is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives to mourn her passing.

Visitation for Louise will be on Thursday, April 18, 2024 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with her funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Ault officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 AM on Friday, April 19, 2024 at the funeral home to go in funeral procession to Campbell Memorial Gardens for 11:00 AM interment.
