Ernie Ray Clawson, age 72, passed away Saturday, May 29, 2021 at his home in Speedwell with his family by his side. Ernie was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, family man and church worker. He loved to fish, farm and grow a garden which he became a master of growing tomatoes. But Ernie’s true passion was spending time with his family. He was a member of Braden’s Chapel Baptist Church, A U.S Vietnam Era Army Veteran and retired from H.T. Hackney company in Middlesboro, KY. He is preceded in death by parents: Rev. Buster and Helen Edwards Clawson, father and mother-in-law: Bill and Mary Jean Bean, brothers-in-law: Joel Hodges and Don Pierce.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Mickey Clawson, daughters: Lisa (Scott) Fields, Kyra (David) Pierce, Tiffany (Sean) Medley, Grandchildren, Eli Fields, Blair Medley, Garrett Medley, Hayden Fields, Sisters and Brother, Pat Pierce, Mack (Linda)Clawson, Jan (Marvin) Bean, Pam (Ken) Goins, Sister-in-law, Linda Hodges, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins

Family will receive friends 5-7 PM Tuesday June 1, 2021 with funeral services to follow at 7 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel.

Family and friends will meet 10 AM Wednesday at Cross-Smith Funeral Home and proceed to Clawson cemetery for a 11 am Interment with Military Honors by the Campbell Co. Honor Guard.
