Recently, Campbell County Lions Martha Wells and Carol McDonald gathered with members of the 43 Lions Clubs from District 12-N, East Tennessee, to package meals for the hungry in partnership with Operation Inasmuch Ministries of Knoxville. The Lions packed 45,000 meals that day. Each club took their boxes to their home locations to donate to those who help feed the hungry in their neighborhoods.

Campbell County Lions donated their four boxfuls to the Food Life Services Food Pantry. Each box contained 204 servings of either macaroni and cheese, or beans and rice totaling 816 meals.

Macaroni came packed in these boxes by way of Operation Inasmuch Ministries of Knoxville.

“We appreciate their help, a big help, and this food will be put to good use,” said former judge and now FLS volunteer Charles Herman. Food Life Services is open on Tuesdays from 9am until 1pm, and volunteers are needed at FLS; apply in person at the former East La Follette School on East Elm Street. “I’m glad to be here to help people,” Herman added.
