TOP PHOTO: Work continues this afternoon on I-75 on the north side of Campbell County near Jellico.

JELLICO, TN (WLAF) – Emergency rockslide repairs continue on I-75 North at MM 156.6 here in Campbell County, just north of the Rarity Mountain Road exit. The slide happened late Monday morning.

According to Community Relations Officer for the Tennessee Department of Transportation – Region 1, Mark Nagi, the contractor has removed some of the damaged catchment fencing. Work is continuing to remove the remaining loose material at the top of the slope. 

This is a look above the Rarity Mountain Exit.

The slide area is approximately five miles from the state line and four miles from Jellico.  Nagi urges you to use caution in this area and expect delays during peak travel times. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 04/22/2022-NOON)
