Daphne Jane Saunders “faffy” age 56 of LaFollette, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 23, 2022. She was born on March 17,1966 and was adopted and raised at an early age by her grandparents Walter and Rose Saunders. She was a member of West LaFollette Baptist Church. Daphne volunteered at Habitat Restore in LaFollette, where she enjoyed serving and meeting new people in the community. She loved UT football and playing games with her friends, and there was never a dull moment. She had an infectious personality that you fell in love with and a witty sense of humor. Daphne’s love was for kids, she loved them with all her heart, and they loved her in return. If you knew her or ever spoke with her, she loved her “baby girl” Emily Grace more than life itself. Daphne will be greatly missed by many.

She is preceded in death by Walter and Rose Saunders and her brother Scott Saunders.

Daphne is survived by several friends and family but had a special place in her heart for what she called her “sisters, Melissa Tucker, Karen Claborn, and Joybeth Chapman. She is also survived by her kids as she would say “You know who you are” Dusty Smith, Amanda Cook, DD Wilhoit, Brooke Daugherty, Zach Norman, Alex Daugherty, and her special “baby girl” Emily Grace, and so many more.

Family and friends will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with a celebration of life to follow at 7:00 PM with Rev. Sampson Ridenour officiating.

The family has entrusted the care of Daphne Jane Saunders ‘faffy” to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where families matter most.”
